Fall Coaches Meeting – August 17 2019

We are getting closer for the beginning of our season with our first games being on August 31. We are getting excited to get started and we hope you are too. I wanted to send out information on our upcoming Coaches Meeting and other league information.
Coaches meeting will be on August 17 from 9 AM – 11 AM at the pavilion next to what was fields A-E at the soccer complex (across from the Maverik at the corner of 4000 W and New Bingham Highway). The schedule will be as follows:
- 9 AM – General coaching information and instruction.
- 10 AM – Coaching Training conducted by Coaches with Real Salt Lake
- 11AM – Handing out uniforms and coaches equipment
With our partnership with Real Salt Lake in the RSL Junior Recreation Program, we get the awesome privilege of being instructed in coaching techniques with RSL coaching staff. This will be a great opportunity to learn new coaching skills from coaching experts.
After the RSL coaches training, we will be distributing uniforms and coaching equipment.
Each player will receive a jersey, shorts, socks, and a soccer ball.
Coaches equipment includes a coaches bag, a whistle, cones, first aid kit, ball pump, game ball, coaches shirt, ball mesh bag, goalie shirt (U8 and up), and a clipboard (U8 and up).
In order for you to pick up the uniforms and coaches equipment on August 17, you will have to have completed the Concussion Certification and SafeSport Certification and have these documents uploaded in your account in affinity. You can complete these trainings by going to our website: wjysoccer.com and clicking on Coaches Corner. Please get these done as soon as you can.
Remember, attendance at this meeting is mandatory. If you cannot attend, please send an assistant coach or a parent.

1. Attend both the Fall and Spring Coaches Meeting
2. Coach both seasons
3. Be in good standing with the league, meaning having had no sportsmanship concerns.
